Edward James "Jim" Noone, Jr.
1944 - March 6, 2025
On March 6, 2025, Edward James “Jim” Noone, Jr., after a very lengthy illness, passed peacefully to be with our Lord. Jim was 81.
He was a much loved and respected member of his community. Active Lions Club member for 59 years. Served in many offices in Lions and was a Camp Director at Texas Lions Camp in past years. Youngest District 2 S-1 Governor and served on many committees. He was the original “McGruff” drug and crime prevention mascot and personally placed the Crime Prevention puppets in schools all over Texas.
He obtained a Bachelors Degree from Lamar University in Special Education and a Masters Degree with Principals certification. Retired from teaching, but continued to substitute teach until his illness in 2022. Living History Participant in 1860’s genre for 15 years and educated the public on the historical aspects of 1860 to 1865. His participation as a war correspondent in 1860 was his passion.
Jim loved horses, fishing, making people laugh, and was always ready for a trip, his family, or fun. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
