Michael William LaRosa 

December 25, 1948 - January 28, 2025 

Michael William LaRosa, age 76, of Austin, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Formerly of Rosenberg, Texas, he was born in Keyser, West Virginia on Christmas Day to Larry Francis LaRosa and Leona Tappe LaRosa. He is preceded in death by older brother James Henry LaRosa.

He trained as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and completed his service in the Army National Guard of Texas.

He had degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont and Texas A&M University in College Station. He was a landscape architect and advocate for native vegetation and natural preservation. He loved Austin and spent hours on long walks around the city.

He is survived by his Niece Kathryn Kelly (LaRosa) Morton and Nephew James August LaRosa.

Graveside service for Michael will be held on March 8, 2025, at 10:00am at the Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, 3900 B F Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, TX 77471.

In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to enjoy a walk along one of Austin's beautiful trails, reflecting on the life of Michael or plant a native tree in his honor, helping to nurture the natural habitat he cherished.
