Ferdinando Michael "Fred" Bruno 

August 23, 1925 - December 21, 2024 

Fred M. Bruno, 99, of Interlaken, NJ, passed away Saturday December 21, 2024. Fred was a resident of North Newark before relocating to Interlaken in 1998.

Before retiring, Fred was a Mechanical Engineer for Thomas Electronics in Wayne. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Fred was a graduate of Barringer High School.

Fred was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, Friday morning breakfast with his Mt. Carmel church buddies, and dinner at Jimmy's restaurant every Monday. He was a proud alum of NJIT, class of '47. He also attended Texas A&M University.

Fred is survived by his sons Anthony and his companion Shelly, Michael and his wife Stacey, daughter Dr. Lou Ann Bruno-Murtha and her husband Dr. Timothy Murtha, sister Marie Caruso, grandchildren Brendan and his wife Katie, Dr. Celeste Murtha, Jenna Delepine and her husband Morgan, and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Lou (nee DelGaizo), parents Antonio and Giovina(nee DeLillo) and grandson Matthew.

Visitation is Thursday 5-8pm. Friday a 10am mass will be offered at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark and interment in Holy Cross Cemetery will follow.
