Thomas Paul Myers
March 10, 1977 - May 12, 2025
Thomas Paul Myers of Frisco, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2025 at the age of 48. He was born to Thomas Emery Myers and Laurel Ann (Danek) Myers on March 10, 1977 at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany.
Tom grew up in Upstate New York. Living on a golf course, he developed a lifelong love for the sport. A salesman in the making, he worked a deal with the owner of the course—if he collected all the stray golf balls, he could play for free anytime. He enjoyed being part of a team. He played baseball, golf, and swam on the swim team. An avid reader, Tom Clancy and Stephen King were among his favorite authors. Some of his fondest childhood memories were of spending time with cousins, going fishing with his aunts and uncles, and rooting on Red Sox at Fenway Park.
When he discovered he could play golf year-round, he willingly moved across country to Austin, Texas in 1991. There, he attended McNeil High School, where his intellect and love of team sports continued to shine through. He turned an individual sport into a group effort with the help of his favorite physics teacher, Mr. Balmer, by establishing McNeil’s first chess club before graduating in 1995. He continued his education at Texas A&M University earning a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2000. During his final semester at A&M, he met his wife, Amanda. The two exchanged vows on March 29, 2003. Tom went on to earn his MBA at The University of Texas at Dallas, graduating in 2008.
Settling in Frisco in 2009, Tom had a very successful career in IT solution sales. He was an expert in his field, experienced at leading teams, and a master of coaching and individual development. He was known for his ability to make connections with people, his knack for storytelling, and his desire to “do right by people”. He earned countless awards as a sales leader, but his proudest accomplishments were his precious daughters, Grace and Molly.
He cherished time spent with family—especially on summer vacations. He thought it was important to show his girls different parts of the world and expose them to new cultures and foods—but he never found anything that topped a good, Texas ribeye. He was a devoted Aggie football fan and started every season with (maybe a little too much) optimism. He was always certain that this would be the year they made it to the national championship. It was that same optimism that got him through his toughest days as he battled cancer with superhuman strength, bravery, and courage.
He was a big kid at heart—collecting comic books, eating Happy Meals, playing video games, building Lego sets, and watching game shows. He loved a good trivia competition and couldn’t be beat at sports trivia. When cancer forced him to stay in bed, Jeopardy became the highlight of his day. It helped keep his mind busy, and if you were in the room, participation was mandatory. Tom was charismatic and silly and fun and he will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
Tom is preceded in death by: grandparents, Bernard and Barbara Danek; grandparents, Elwood and Muriel Myers; aunts, Helen Bernier and Barbara Vachon.
Those left to carry on his memory: his loving wife, Amanda Myers; daughters, Grace and Molly Myers; parents, Thomas and Laurel Myers of Houston, Texas; aunt, Cathy Myers of Granby, MA; aunt, Sharon Quesnel and husband Kevin of South Hadley, MA; uncle, Ben Danek and wife Judith of Clinton, CT; and numerous cousins, friends, and coworkers.
