Layne Noel Thomas 

July 30, 1953 - May 3, 2025 

Layne N. Thomas passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on May 3, 2025 in Lakeway, Texas.

Layne was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 30, 1953 to Clifton Noel Thomas and Audell King Thomas. He attended Kress Public Schools and graduated in 1971. He was active in sports, specifically football and track. He was also a member of the FFA and had many champion show lambs.

Layne attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree. He spent the majority of his business career with NCR Corporation as a Sales Vice President. Numerous promotions enabled him and his family to live in many places including Lubbock, Midland, San Antonio, Kansas City, St. Louis, Ohio, and Austin.

In 1980, Layne married Pamela Smith of Lubbock, Texas. They had two daughters, Christie and Melissa.

Layne was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Twyla Miranda.

He is survived by his wife Pamela, his daughters Christie Andrews and her husband Koby, Melissa and her wife Bridget, four grandchildren, a sister Laura Templeton and her husband Steve, a brother Tracy, and many nieces and nephews.

Layne was proud that he had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in 1965. He was a member of the Westover Hills Church of Christ in Austin, Texas.

A private family function will be held at a later date.
