Robert Oscar "Bob" Baetge
April 1, 1947 - April 20, 2025
Robert Oscar Baetge was born to Oscar & Eleanor Baetge on April 1, 1947 in New Braunfels, Texas. He passed away on April 20, 2025 at the age of 78.
He is survived by his two children, Erin White (and Matt), & Justin Baetge (and Claire), sister-in-law (Janet Baetge), nieces (Allison Nitsch and Andrea Baetge), and cousins (Jimmy Gras, Cathy Gras, Gary Foerster). He was known as Pappy to his 7 grandchildren (Grady, Coy, Lane, Ellie, Will, Evan, & Caleb).
Preceding him in his death are his parents Oscar & Eleanor Baetge, brother Allen Baetge, and his partner Pacita Grinder.
Growing up in New Braunfels, Bob graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1965 and then went on to graduate from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969, where he was also a member of the Corps of Cadets. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant with the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant while serving for three years in Germany. He was a Professional Engineer (PI), and his career was spent in New Braunfels, TX & Port Lavaca, TX. Bob's passions were Texas A&M (especially the Corps of Cadets & Aggie Band), traveling in his RV, spending time with family, fishing, and his beloved fur babies Bitsie, Schnappsy, and Tiggy.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Bob, if you wish to make a donation please do so to the American Cancer Society or the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
