Charles Frederick Tiemann
April 10, 1940 - April 12, 2025
Charles Frederick Tiemann, a retired Houston attorney and son of the late long-time Brenham resident Col. Cordes Tiemann, died April 12 in his sleep. He was 85.
A graduate of Texas A&M University and the South Texas College of Law, Tiemann practiced law in Northwest Houston and was part of a team that achieved a settlement in a Ford Bronco II rollover lawsuit. He also served as a municipal judge in Jersey Village, Texas.
A lifelong athlete who played many sports, Tiemann threw the shotput for A&M University and later in life won third place at the Texas Senior Olympics in the same event.
Tiemann was a member of the Optimist Club, served as a senior warden at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Houston, and coached little league.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Prange of Lake Forest, Calif.; his son Ross Tiemann of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother Michael Tiemann of Burke, Va.; and five grandchildren, Sydney Prange, Jacob Tiemann, Max Tiemann, Mia Prange and Caleb Tiemann.
A gravesite ceremony will be held May 3 at 10 a.m. at Prairie Lea Cemetery followed by an 11 a.m. remembrance reception at Memorial Oaks Chapel at 1306 West Main in Brenham.
