Stephanie Leann Seelk

July 29, 1969 - June 16, 2024

Stephanie, 54, was blessed with a smile that would brighten a room, a laugh that was contagious and the ability to find humor anywhere she went. She had a magnetic personality and everyone wanted to be around her and be her friend.

The only child born on July 29, 1969 to Willie F. Seelk and Sylvia Schubert Seelk, was preceded in death by both her parents and her grandparents.

Stephanie believed in education, was a lifelong learner and educator/counselor for 33 years at Pleasanton Jr. High where she worked helping the youth in many different ways. She was a teacher, counselor, organization sponsor and caretaker of The Eagle Closet which was a project close to her heart. During her years at Pleasanton ISD she touched the lives of many students and developed many friendships along the way.

Stephanie is survived by her uncle, Delton Seelk; first cousins, Winn Lindsey and Karol Kennedy. Being an only child and from a small family, Stephanie chose to adopt several of her friends as her family, which she is survived by Beverly Hummel, her best friend for over 40 years; Jay Martin, her friend for over 30 years and Mary Howard, her friend for 29 years. Stephanie, who had no children of her own, claimed her framily’s (friends that became family) kids as “her kids.’’ They include Brandi Whitener, Charlee Baker, Logan Baker, Chance Martin, Skyler Catiller, Gracie Littlefield and Gregory Howard Jr. She loved each and every one of her kids and enjoyed watching them as they grew up and became adults and parents.

They will serve as her Honorary Pallbearers. Stephanie loved having fun, spending time with friends and family and traveling. She also had a flare for fashion and was always up to date on the latest fashion trends, she had a fondness for animal prints, turquoise, bling and purses.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Stockdale Church of Christ. A private burial will follow at another time.
