Susan Lea (Boyd) Humble 

June 25, 1945 - March 2, 2024 

Susan Humble PhD, 78, of College Station, TX died peacefully with family by her side on March 2, 2024.

Susan Lea Boyd was born in San Francisco, CA to Mary Helyn Gerdes Boyd and Paul Clifton Boyd Sr. on June 25, 1945.

Susan spent her childhood in Temple, TX. She graduated from The University of Texas with a degree in speech therapy and a Masters in Audiology. She later received her doctorate in education from Texas A&M University.

She was an avid reader and had a keen mind and knew the importance of a good education. She spent a lifetime working for Cameron ISD in many different roles. She loved to garden and was a member of The Little River Basin Master Gardener Association of Milam County. Susan also had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family members they were. She was a licensed pilot and had a sense of adventure and loved to travel. She loved watching sports, especially the Texas Longhorns. Susan loved cooking and shared many great recipes with family and friends.

She spent her last few years at the Waterford in College Station, TX where she enjoyed participating in many activities. It was a loving community that gave her dignity and joy and a sense of purpose. Susan was cared for with compassion by her niece Adrienne Gattis and her husband Joe.

Susan was predeceased by the love of her life, her fiancé Bob Greenwood.

Susan is survived by her brother Paul Boyd Jr. and his wife Shirley of Temple, TX. Her sister Beth Marble and husband Larry of Katy, TX. Her niece Adrienne Gattis and husband Joe and their children, Campbell, Addison, Blake and Tyler of College Station, TX. Her nephew Clifton Marble and wife Ginger and their sons, Carter and Reed of Katy, TX. Her niece Celeste Kaylor and husband Thomas and their two sons, Kannon and Kash of Hewitt, TX. And her nephew Jeffrey Boyd of Temple, TX.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
