Cacey Renee (Corder) Stastny

September 7, 1986 - April 10, 2024

Cacey Renee Stastny, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away on the morning of April 10, 2024. She was a beautiful and loving wife, daughter, sister, and aunt who made every day special for those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Cacey was born in Houston on September 7, 1986. She had fond memories of growing up in the city, with many neighborhood friends, starting gymnastics tumbling classes at an early age, and having her aunt Cha-Cha nearby to see almost every day. In the early 90’s the family moved to Singapore for 6 months. That would be the start of her love of traveling which carried on throughout her life. Shortly after returning from Singapore, the family moved to Sealy in the Summer of ‘94, her Mother’s hometown.

Cacey thrived in Sealy. Having so many family members in town made the transition feel like home instantly. Family cookouts at the land, cousins she got to know and grow close with, and just spending time at home with her friends by the pool made her so happy. She excelled at school, was a part of a competition gymnastics team, cheerleader, and was a member of the track & field team. Along the way, she would meet her future husband Cyril (or Bubba as he is known). The two met in high school and would later marry in front of a gorgeous setting in Breckenridge, Colorado on October 22, 2011. Before that, they both attended and graduated from Texas A&M University. She was loyal to her beloved Aggie sports teams and attended as many games as she could. Cacey was so proud of her Aggie ring and you would never see her without it. She was also a rabid Astros fan.

Cacey and Cyril made a great life for themselves. First living in Austin where they both worked. They enjoyed their time there taking in all the sights and fun the town had to offer. While in Austin they welcomed their Pomeranians, Jordi and Quinn into the family. Cacey loved her puppies like children. If one sneezed…off to the vet! Eventually, they moved to Katy to be closer to family. Visiting Cacey at her house was always a joy. She loved to cook, and her specialties were her desserts (especially cheesecake), but also her homemade pasta and other Italian dishes. Homemade pizza from the pizza oven would always bring the whole family together on the weekends. Cacey and Cyril would travel as often as they could, not only throughout the US, but they would take several trips to Europe. Cacey’s favorite places to visit were Salzburg Austria and Tuscany. She loved everything about the European culture; the food, the wine, the people, hiking the mountains, and the local traditions. She also had a love for the outdoors and especially hitting the slopes. She and Cyril were able to visit and ski at some of the most beautiful places in the US, Canada and Europe. Even with all the fun of traveling, she was always the happiest at home with her family. Just a wonderful person who would do anything to make sure everyone was taken care of.

Cacey was preceded in death by her mother, Cindy Corder, and her aunt, Charlene (ChaCha) Schneider. She is survived by her husband Cyril Stastny; father Rick Corder; brother Christian Corder and wife Janna; nieces and nephews Ellis and Cade Corder, Bellamy and Beckett White; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Although it was a life too short, Cacey was able to make such an important impact on the lives of others. The family asks that we remember her for her smile, her laugh, her kindness and all the wonderful times we were able to spend together.
