Leslie Gunn '08 April 30, 2024 2:21 PM updated: April 30, 2024 2:26 PM

Leslie Ariel Gunn

April 22, 1986 - April 3, 2024

Leslie Ariel Gunn passed away suddenly 4/3/2024 at age 37. She was a cherished member of her family and is survived by Ed Delashmit, her life partner, her mother, Sandra, father Tom, sister Julie, step brothers Ben and John, step sister Stephanie and nieces Juliana, Ashlyn and Shayna.

Leslie was a graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (Austin) and attended Texas A&M University for three years where she met her life partner, Ed. She was an accomplished three dimensional artist in diverse mediums, and won recognition of her mastery in three dimensional beaded creatures and masks, which were included in theatrical productions.

Her kindness and generous sharing of her artistic talents will be remembered by her fellow workers at the IRS (Austin) and others who were fortunate to know her. Leslie had a special lifelong passion for horses that she rode and cared for from an early age. Eagles, wolves, and cats were also her muses and inspiration.

The spirited, fearless originality of her art and her expansive intellectual curiosity were Leslie’s essence; she was a bright red poppy in a field of daisies.

Memorial services will be held on April 27, 2024 in the chapel at St. Andrew’s Episcopal High School, 5901 Southwest Parkway, Austin TX 78735 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Leslie’s name to Healing With Horses, 10014 FM973, Manor, TX 78653.
