Susan Lee Hodges (Meinscher) Bingham 

July 29, 1955 - April 8, 2024 

Susan Lee (Meinscher) Bingham, a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on April 8, 2024, at the age of 68.

Susan was born on July 29, 1955 at Bellville General Hospital to William “Bill” Henry & Alma Jean (Stewart) Meinscher. She grew up in Bellville, Texas, alongside her big brother William Warren Meinscher.

Susan graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Speech Communications in 1989. She worked as a realtor and a message therapist. And was a member of the Le Leche League. She had been accepted into nursing school which could not be pursued due to worsened health conditions. Susan was an advocate for naturopathy. She enjoyed floral design, gardening, collecting China and being out in nature. Susan was very caring and giving to family, friends and even strangers. She was a people person who could have a conversation with a complete stranger and by the end of the conversation know what color of socks they were wearing.

Susan is survived by her husband, Curtis Bingham of Bryan; her daughter and son-in-law, Layla (Hodges) and Steve Christensen of College Station; her son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Le’Ann Hodges of Austin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Schyler Christensen of Dallas; Tyler Christensen of College Station; and Kacey Christensen of College Station. Susan will also be remembered by her sister-in-law, Sherry (Bingham) Lenamon, Sherry’s husband, Starley Lenamon and their children, Melanie Kring and Nathan Kring. She was beloved by many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Jean Meinscher & her brother, Warren.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held in July in Bryan, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you consider planting something to grow in Susan’s memory. Any momentary gifts can be given to Acara Hospice in Susan’s honor.

May her loving soul rest in eternal peace.
