Jerry Wayne Ash 

October 27, 1933 - April 7, 2024 

Jerry Wayne Ash died comfortably on Sunday, April 7, 2024 in the company of his loving wife Jessie at their home in San Antonio, Texas. Jerry was born in Fort Worth, TX on October 27, 1933, the second of Wayne and Marguerite Harris Ash’s four sons. He served in the Corps at Texas A&M University and entered the Air Force after graduation in 1955. He served as a fighter pilot in the Air Force and in the Reserve, resigning his commission after attaining the rank of Captain. His degree in Mechanical Engineering led him to Civil Service employment at Kelly AFB and a move to San Antonio in 1962.

A long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church, he served as a Vestry Member, Senior Warden, and Lay Reader. When Trinity closed, his membership transferred to St. Luke’s, where he continued his work in service to the church as a Vestryman. Jerry and Jessie were faithful members of the Wednesday morning chapel service at the Bishop Jones Center in Cathedral Park.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Bob Ash, and his son Ronnie Ash. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jessie Emmons Ash, daughters Viki Ash and Angela Ash Green, son Tony Ash, and son-in-law Paul Green as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchlldren.
