Paul Joseph Hausman

December 17, 1950 - March 21, 2024

Paul J. Hausman was called home by his heavenly father on March 21, 2024 at the age of 73. Paul was born on December 17, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents Ernest P. and Frances M. Hausman.

Paul graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1969. After High School, he attended San Antonio College where he pursued his interests in Art and Photography. At San Antonio College, he was Chief Photographer in the Journalism Department for The Ranger, the weekly newspaper, and the Fourth Write, the College news feature magazine. Paul went on to get a BFA in Art Education at the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. After getting his bachelor’s degree, he worked at Southwest Texas State University for seven years in Media Services where he managed the 16mm motion picture collection for the University. He went on to get his M.ED from Texas A&M University in 1986.

Paul was a very talented photographer. His interest in photography came early from his father who made 16mm movies of the family growing up. Paul started his site-specific postcard photography business, Majestic Images, in 1991 at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area and remained a postcard vendor for Texas Parks and Wildlife for over 27 years. He also worked in education for NISD as a teacher and substitute teacher for over 17 years. But landscape photography was his passion. Photographing God’s awesome creation was what gave him real purpose. In 2008 and 2009, Paul made the “Majestic Reflections Christian Appointment Calendar” using his photos from numerous national and state parks. The calendars sold throughout the United States. Paul was also a longtime member of the Alamo Area Multimedia User Group. He served as a subgroup leader for Photography, specializing in image enhancement and restoration using Photoshop and other Adobe applications.

Paul married Michel Beth Davis on July 17, 1993. He was a devoted and loving husband. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Michel Beth Hausman, his step-children, Debbie and David, his sister Mary F. Van Bibber, his niece Christine, and nephews, Mikey and Cory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 9:00am at the funeral home chapel, with entombment to follow in the mausoleum at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, Texas 78257.
