Jacquelyn Nicole Sorrells 

May 21, 1991 - February 29, 2024 

Jacquelyn Nicole Sorrells, age 32, of Houston Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1991 in Houston, Texas. She leaves behind parents, John Everett Sorrells and Yvonne (Lomas) Sorrells, one brother, John Everett Sorrells, Jr., her grandmother, Mary Louise Sorrells, and her beloved Shitzu named Biscuit.

Jacquelyn attended James E Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, graduating in 2009. She studied Marketing at Texas A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2013, a proud moment for family and friends. Upon graduation Jacquelyn began her working career at Academy Sports and Outdoors as an Assistant Buyer and worked her way through the ranks to Buyer of girl’s apparel. Most recently she was assisting her family in providing care for her mother and fulfilling her dream as a stay-at-home dog mom.

Jacquelyn enjoyed the outdoors and had many wonderful memories from trips to the beach, skiing in Colorado, popular Disney theme parks, and fishing in Matagorda Bay and numerous lakes, streams, and ponds in Houston and Katy, Texas. As a proud Texas Aggie, Jacquelyn would also frequent the walls of Kyle Field to cheer on the Fightin’ Texas Aggie football team. She dearly loved her dog Biscuit and would take her for daily lengthy strolls through CityCentre, her residence for the last several years.

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2024 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery. A reception for family and guests will be held subsequent to the funeral services also at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery.
