Paul Rogerson '60 April 16, 2024 2:42 PM updated: April 16, 2024 3:03 PM

Paul G. Rogerson

June 19, 1938 - April 11, 2024

Paul G Rogerson was born in Kilgore, Texas and passed away in Conroe, Texas following a recent illness.

Paul was a very active man who loved his family and friends dearly. He was always the first to step in and help them no matter what else may be going on in his life. He grew up with his older sister, Joan and identical twin brother, David in East Texas. The twin brothers played sports together in high school including football and baseball. They were recruited by major league baseball. However, their parents, Roy and Vivian, “encouraged” them to complete college first. The twins attended Texas A&M University as part of the Corps of Cadets. Paul served as a Captain in the US Army following college.

Paul pursued his professional career after his military service and worked for 32 years at 3M Company in sales and management. In his career there, he began work in a newly created business of the company in the field of Occupational Health and Safety beginning in 1975. He spent the remainder of his career in this field. He became a leader in the industry and taught respiratory protection at the Texas A&M Fire School. Paul enjoyed his service to the community and spent time involved at Habitat for Humanity, Community Assistance Center Conroe, UM Army, Salvation Army and as a volunteer reading mentor at a local elementary school.

The love of his life was his wife and family. He enjoyed most the time spent with his grandchildren. He loved being a mentor to his children and grandchildren, teaching them sports and handyman skills. He began a hobby of making custom golf clubs in a shop he fashioned in his garage. Over the years, he made custom golf clubs for several local golf professionals. He also loved dove hunting each fall in south Texas with his hunting group, including his son, son-in-law, and grandson.

Most of all, Paul loved Jesus. He is now fully healed and restored. There is a celebration in heaven with his parents, twin brother, and his sister.

Paul is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Jeanie Rogerson; son, Matt Rogerson, his wife Robin, granddaughters, Tori (husband Vince) and Rachel (husband Daniel), grandson Steven (wife Samantha); daughter Elizabeth Budnek, her husband Doug, granddaughters Becca (husband Shane), and Bethany and six great grandchildren.

In remembrance of Paul’s life, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity, 9407 SH 242, Conroe, TX 77385 or the First Methodist Church Conroe, Texas 4308 W Davis St, Conroe, TX 77304.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 27th at 11:00am CST at First Methodist Church 4308 West Davis St., Conroe TX 77304.
