Clarence Wendell Wilkerson III

January 20, 1969 - March 8, 2024

C. Wendell Wilkerson III passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, with his wife by his side.

Born in Houston, Texas, on January 20, 1969, to Clarence, Jr., and Sharon Wilkerson, Wendell was a globetrotter who spent time in Switzerland, Canada, and Israel, in addition to living in multiple states before finally settling in Michigan. He graduated from Southfield High School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. While in high school, Wendell was a member of National Honor Society and lettered in soccer all four years.

He attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering before joining Raytheon Technologies as an engineer where he worked for over twenty-five years.

A smart man with a witty sense of humor, Wendell had a knack for making anyone he met feel welcomed. His supportive nature was a cornerstone of his character, making him a beacon of comfort and strength to his family and friends.

Despite his many accomplishments, what mattered most to Wendell was his family. He was a devoted husband to Phuong-Anh and a doting father to Taylor and Alexander. His hobbies of soccer, woodworking, and travel brought him great joy, which he loved to share with his family. He showed them the world, exploring Australia, Denmark, and England, to name a few countries as well as a multitude of states including Hawai'i and Alaska.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Phuong-Anh; his children, Taylor and Alexander; his mother, Sharon; and his brother, Christopher. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Wilkerson, Jr.
