Linda Horne High 

March 14, 1956 - March 28, 2024 

Linda Horne High, passed away suddenly on March 28, 2024 in Woodbridge, VA. Graveside service will held at 10:30 a.m. April 20th at Cottonwood Flat Cemetery, Rotan, Texas, and will be officiated by nephew Brian Blacklock, under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born March 14, 1956, in Corpus Christi, TX, Linda was the daughter of the late Bill and Jean Norton Horne. Linda attended Montclair Elementary, Cullen Jr High, and Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, and Del Mar Jr College, before transferring to Texas A&M University and graduating with a degree in Animal Science from the class of 1978. Linda worked in veterinary pharmaceutical sales after graduation and later as a travel agent.

Linda married Navy Lieutenant E.J. High on September 19, 1981, in Corpus Christi. She was a loving wife and a homemaker throughout E.J.’s career, and always followed E.J. in his Naval assignments. Linda always loved animals and her pets were cherished. She was a “breath of sunshine” wherever she went and loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

Linda is survived by her husband E.J. High, her sister Judy Blacklock and husband Doug of San Augustine TX, her sisters-in-law Mary Billeck of Schulenburg TX and Sandi High of Dallas TX, nieces and nephews Sarah Blacklock Leger, Brian Blacklock, Jason Blacklock, Mathew Ivey, Katelynn Billeck, and Krystal Billeck. Linda was preceded in death by nephew Danny Ivey and brother-in-law Thomas Billeck.
