Ronald Kenneth Moore 

November 13, 1943 - March 28, 2024 

Ronald Kenneth Moore, 80 of Meridian, Idaho, passed peacefully on March 28, 2024 of heart failure. He was born November 13, 1943 to Ina Fay and James Moore in Kilgore, Texas.

Ronnie graduated from Kilgore High School in 1962, working in the oil fields as a teenager.

He was in the Corp of Cadets for 4 years at Texas A&M University, Company B2, 1962-1966. He was a First Air Cavalry Officer for the United States Army in Vietnam on the Ho Che Minh Trail in 1966-1968.

After receiving his Bachelors and Masters of Accounting at Texas A&M, he worked as a management accountant/comptroller for Weatherford Tool Company, John Price Construction, the Jicarilla Apache Tribe in New Mexico, and Monsanto.

He then returned to the classroom to teach. Professor Moore taught Accounting at University of Montana Missoula, Idaho State University and North Texas State University. In 1987, he finished his dissertation and attained his PHD from NTSU. Dr. Moore then continued to teach at University of Wisconsin Whitewater, Idaho State University, Bemidji State University, finally retiring in 2006 at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Ron’s Doctorate status was instrumental in helping NNU progress from college to university, as it was then able to offer a graduate program from the Business department.

Ron was preceded in death by his father James, mother Ina Fay and brother Larry. He is survived by his wife Annette, son Kenneth (Kendra), son James (Audi), stepdaughter Liz (Greg), stepdaughter Pauline (Sam), stepdaughter Kate, 11 grandchildren – Kyra (Kamal), Bailie (Mitch), Heather (Jose), Mary (Lucas), Thomas (Trinity), Jacob, Luciana, Steven, Philip, Robert, Daniel and 3 great-grandchildren – Connor, Claire & Amelia.

He was dearly loved and is greatly missed by family and friends.
