Tara Hutchins Jones

June 12, 1972 - September 27, 2023

Tara Christine Hutchins Jones, 51, a cherished Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after bravely battling cancer for a year and a half. Tara's life journey began on June 12, 1972, in Tyler, Texas, born to Jimmy and Carolyn Hutchins.

Tara's formative years were spent in Tyler, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1990. Her quest for knowledge led her to Texas A&M University in College Station where she earned degrees in history and psychology in 1994. On May 20, 1995, Tara married her high school sweetheart, Christopher Reed Jones. The couple's journey took them to College Station, Temple, and eventually back to Tyler as they embarked on Chris's medical career.

Tara's devotion knew no bounds as she dedicated her life to nurturing and raising their three beloved daughters. She found immense joy in serving her community, both at her girls' school and First Baptist Church in Tyler. Her happiest moments were those spent with her family, where she not only shared love but also inspired her daughters to chase their dreams. Tara and Chris shared a love for adventure and exploration, making cherished memories in both new and familiar places.

Tara is survived by her husband of 28 years, Chris Jones, and her adoring daughters Bailey Dominguez and her husband Michael of Longview; Hadley Jones of Tyler, Texas; and Sydney Jones of Tyler, Texas. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Jimmy and Carolyn Hutchins of Tyler, Texas; a caring sister, Tammy Riley, and her husband, Chris, of Bryan, Texas; a loving brother, Brian Hutchins, and his wife Colinda of Whitehouse, Texas; and her father-in-law, Reed Jones, and his wife Shirley, of Tyler, Texas. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sister-in-law, Keeley Jones, her husband Shaun of Lewisville, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Connor Riley and wife Megan, Abigail Riley, Thomas Hutchins, Corrin Hutchins, Tyler Jones, and Zachary Jones.

A memorial service to honor Tara's beautiful life will be held at First Baptist Church of Tyler on Saturday, September 30, at 10:00 AM, with visitation at Stewart Family Funeral Home on Friday, September 29, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In remembrance of Tara, the family kindly requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Tyler or the Melanoma Research Alliance.

Tara's light will forever shine in our hearts, and her legacy of love and selflessness will continue to inspire us all.
