William C. "Will" Hooge 

January 16, 1956 - June 1, 2022 

William “Will” Hooge was born and raised in Atascosa County, Texas. Will died on June 1, 2022, surrounded by his family, from complications of diabetes.

Will was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Hooge and Queenie Jones; and his grandparents, Cyril and Laura Hooge.

He is survived by his former wife, Vera Lara Hooge; his brothers, James (Ann Marie), Robert (Amy) and Michael Hooge and many beloved nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, he worked for Bryan Police Department for 29 years. As a police officer he served in patrol, criminal investigations, and as a school resource officer. He retired in 2009.

Will loved the outdoors. He was a hunter and enjoyed being in the woods. Will was a champion competition shooter, twice placing in the Governor’s 20. After one local competition he was referred to as, “Dead Eye Hooge”.

Will was a good hearted man who will be remembered by his family, friends, fellow officers and the school children he protected.

Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2022, from 6:30-8:30 pm, with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, Texas. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas. Burial will be June 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Pleasanton, Texas.
