Marvin A. Daniel, class of 1950, passed away on March 26 at the age of 101 in Fredericksburg, TX. They had one son, Wendell Marvin Daniel, born in 1949 in Fredericksburg.

Marvin served in the Army Air Corp in World War II, stationed in various bases in Texas and was slated to go overseas, serving as a radio operator on the B-29, when peace was declared. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of sergeant. He and Leota moved to College Station, TX where he attended Texas A&M University, and graduated in 1949 with a BS in Agriculture. Anyone knowing Marvin knows how proud he was to be an Aggie. He supported TAMU actively throughout the years and was very proud that both of his granddaughters and one grandson-in-law graduated from TAMU. Of his three great-granddaughters from TX, one has graduated from TAMU and the other two are currently attending there.

After graduating from TAMU, Marvin and Leota moved to Fredericksburg where their son Wendell was born. They joined First Baptist Church, Fredericksburg and were loyal and active members for many years. Marvin served in many capacities at the church including trustee and deacon as well as leader and member of many church committees. Marvin loved his church and counted it a great blessing to be able to serve. He was a prayer warrior and led many to salvation with his quiet, humble witness.

Marvin worked for the Soil Conservation Service beginning in 1950 and lived in Coleman, Brownwood, Vernon, and Harlingen, before returning to Fredericksburg and his retirement in 1980. He then became a Real Estate Broker in Fredericksburg until his second retirement in 2012.

Marvin will be missed as a father, grandfather, and beloved Paps to his 7 great-grandchildren. He was a shining example to his family and friends. He is now rejoicing in Heaven. Praise God!
