Harris Cooper Garrett 

February 12, 1929 - April 27, 2023 

Harris Cooper Garrett, 94, of Brookshire, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

Harris was born on February 12, 1929, in Brookshire, Texas to James Robert and Gladys Mary (Cooper) Garrett. He grew up in Brookshire, graduating from Nolanville High School. Harris furthered his education at Tarleton Jr. College and graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He proudly served as an engineer in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Harris was an entrepreneur and pursued various business opportunities throughout his life. He was a member of Community Methodist Church. For over 50 years, Harris was a member of the Brookshire Pattison Lion’s Club. Harris also volunteered with the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time, Harris enjoyed traveling, going on adventures, and antiquing with his wife, JoAnn, before she passed.

He is survived by his daughters: Suzanne Garrett-Mullins and husband, Richard, of Brookshire and Paula Jo Tullos and husband, Jack, of Cleveland; son: Robert David Garrett and wife, Suzanne, of Katy; granddaughters: Jennifer Lynn Torres, Adriann Christiansen, Dana Thacker, Sydney Waid, and Alexandra Lumpee; grandsons: Jeffery Pattison, Matt Janda, Jared Rachal, John Rachal, Walker Ross, William Ross, Ross Tullos, and Justin Garrett; 34 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.

Harris is preceded in death by the love of his life for 68 years, JoAnn Garrett, and his parents, James and Gladys Garrett.
