Anthony Martin "Tony" Werckle 

May 15, 1943 - July 1, 2023 

Anthony ("Tony") Martin Werckle, 80, passed away on July 1, 2023 in Tyler, Tx. Tony was born May 15, 1943 in San Antonio to the late George and Ellen Werckle.

He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in San Antonio before attending Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dairy Science in 1967. He would later go on to earn a Masters in Public Financial Management at The American University in 1977. He worked in commercial banking and mortgage lending until his retirement in 2007 in Victoria, Tx. He would then move out to Alpine, Tx before settling down for the final time in Tyler, Tx in 2021.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dr. George Werckle, Jr. He is survived by his wife Doris; sister Barbara Wardwell (Ray) of Mico; sons, Matthew Werckle '88 (Lori '88) of Kerrville, Mark Werckle (Grace) of San Antonio, John Paul Werckle (Shae) of Victoria as well as step-daughter Pamela O'Hara (Sean) of Bullard; 7 grandchildren (youngest, Tess '23), 1 step-grandchild, 1 great grandchild, 1 step-great grandchild; nephew William Wardwell '08 (Andrea) of San Antonio.
