John C. Becka, Jr., Col. USAF (Ret) 

January 13, 1943 - February 13, 2024 

Colonel John C. Becka, Jr. departed this life February 13, 2024.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in the Class of '65. He had attained the rank of Cadet Major. He was Supply Officer for the combined Aggie Band and played trombone in the Maroon Band. He was active in Baptist Student Union, Hometown Club, and the Chemical Engineering Society (AICHe).

He was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force in Southeast Asia from 1965 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. He started his civilian career, but continued in the Air Force Reserves as a Mobilization Augmentee. In that capacity he achieved the rank of Full Colonel and served as Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Aerospace Fuels at Lackland Air Force Base San Antonio. He retired from that position in 1995 but continued his work as an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer until 2019.

John was the second in a proud line of four generations of Aggies.
