Beverly Kay (Green) Tune 

October 2, 1951 - July 29, 2021 

Beverly Kay Green Tune, 69, of Albuquerque, N.M., died on July 29, 2021, in Albuquerque. She was born on Oct. 2, 1951, in Temple, Texas to Bob and Bobbie Green. She graduated from Lanier High School in Austin in 1970 and attended UT-Austin where she met her husband, Bill Tune, while playing in the Longhorn Band. She served in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran. Beverly and Bill married in 1976 and had one son, Thomas, in 1979. She graduated from UT with a degree in education in 1980.

She received a Master of Education from Texas A&M University in 1991. After 20 years in education, where she taught at St. Mary's Catholic School in Taylor, Thrall ISD, Caldwell ISD and Somerville ISD, she answered a call to ordained ministry in 1995. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 2000 and pastored churches in Iola, Palestine, Conroe, Baytown, Groves, and Emory until her retirement in 2016. The Tunes retired to Albuquerque in 2016 to live with their son and son-in-law. Beverly loved music, reading and planning worship. She had a life-long love of learning and was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Houston Astros. She impacted many lives as a teacher in the classroom as well as a pastor.

Beverly is survived by husband Bill; son, Thomas; son-in-law, Hunter Turnbow, of Albuquerque; and sister, Mira Ratcliff and family, of Manor. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM.
