Garry Scott Smith

April 24, 1959 - May 19, 2023

Garry Scott Smith was born on April 24, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bill and Georgia Smith. He attended Paschal High School and played basketball and golf. Growing up he and his brother, Richard, were involved in the youth group at Altamesa. His faith led him to Aggies for Christ while attending Texas A&M University. He graduated in 1981 with a degree in accounting.

He shared many great years at: Pickens Snodgrass Koch and Company (Arlington, TX), Virbac (Fort Worth, TX), Klein Meat Company (Fort Worth, TX), Ascension Capital Group (Arlington, TX), Four Seasons Resort (Jackson Hole, WY), Cantey Hanger (Fort Worth, TX), and EPI (Mineral Wells, TX) with numerous colleagues and business partners. He served in Aggies for Christ, at Altamesa Church of Christ as a huddle leader, and at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ as a care group leader leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

Scott loved Max Lucado and John Grisham books, snow skiing, running marathons and triathlons. He was an avid fan of his daughters’ sports and PGA golf.

He loved all things Texas A&M, rescuing german shepherds, and his two proudest moments, his daughters Taylor and Erin.

Scott left this world peacefully on May 19, 2023. He joins his parents and brother in the arms of Jesus and the beauty our Heavenly Father created. Scott will be dearly missed but we are blessed to know we will meet again.
