Gary Wayne Davis 

July 20, 1950 - October 20, 2023 

Gary Wayne Davis, affectionally known as “Papa Gary”, 73, of Conroe, Texas, died on October 20, 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by family.

Gary was born on July 20, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Albert and Rita Davis. He was a proud graduate from Texas A&M University. He worked with his mother in the oil industry before retiring in Conroe, Texas in 1994. He married his long-time sweetheart Sandi on December 14, 2014.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sandi Massey Davis; his stepsons, Ronnie Massey, Jonathan Massey, and Matthew Massey; his grandchildren, Amy Massey, Aaron Massey, Xander Massey, Elise Massey, and Cooper Massey.

Gary was a devoted father to his stepsons and a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren. He and Sandi enjoyed traveling and especially taking cruises. Gary was an active member at West Conroe Baptist Church, playing saxophone in the orchestra and teaching Sunday school for many years. He brought joy and love to those around him and was always quick to tell a joke. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00am October 24, 2023 at Metcalf Funeral Home Conroe Texas. Reverend Alan Gentiles will officiate. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.metcalffuneraldirectors.com for the Davis family.
