September 28, 1941 - January 27, 2023 

Eddie J. Ward passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born September 28, 1941, in Olustee, Oklahoma to his parents Blon Thompson and James Roland Ward. He was an honor graduate of Texas A&M University and served his country as an officer and command pilot in the USAF.

One of the original influencers and fuel management industry pioneers, Eddie founded his San Antonio based company in 1974 to solve customer’s fuel tracking and control problems. Known for his personal and business integrity, he taught generations of employees, “integrity means doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do”.

Eddie loved his family and friends and always placed them first. Outside of building his company he enjoyed flying, golfing, reading, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley with his friends. He loved writing amusing poetry and especially reading it aloud.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lesa Schorr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Ward, his daughter Markay Ward; and three grandchildren; Taylor Schwarz, Noah Schorr and Tate Schorr; two great grandchildren; Henry and Sophie Schwarz; a sister, Sue Howell and brother, Tom Ward.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Service at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. W. Craig Pooser will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks.
