David Bruce McFarland

September 24, 1956 - April 19, 2023

David lost a brave fight with cancer on April 19, 2023. It was a devastating loss to Debbie, Melissa and Robert and their families and they will miss him dearly. But, he did more living in 66 years than most people do in two lifetimes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's name to the American Cancer Society or to Brenham Booster Club.

David Bruce McFarland was born September 24, 1956 in Houston, Texas. He was the youngest of three children born to Bob and Shirley McFarland. Growing up, he enjoyed many things in the outdoors with his family, especially their time at the lake. He met his future bride, Debbie, at the lake when he was just 16. They were together from that moment on! They both enjoyed the same things and became each other's best friend. They married in June of 1980. They had two children, Melissa and Robert. They loved to go on trips together, especially road trips, stopping at all the things along the way that interested them.

David had a very successful career as an engineer. He earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University Class of 1979, and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Houston.
