Robert "Bob" Brooks '65 March 12, 2024 11:40 AM updated: March 12, 2024 11:47 AM

Robert Peters "Bob" Brooks

March 2, 1943 - February 1, 2024

Robert “Bob” Peters Brooks died peacefully on February 1, 2024. Born March 2, Texas Independence Day, he was a true Texan every day thereafter. After being raised in Corpus Christi, Bob attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with an Accounting Degree in 1965, his CPA designation in 1967 and a Masters of Computer Science in 1968. His allegiance and support for Texas A&M was lifelong, his favorite colors were always maroon and white!

As a CPA, Bob worked at Touche Ross in Houston, First Bank & Trust in Bryan, then opened his own CPA and Consulting Firm in Houston. Under Robert P. Brooks Investments, founded in 1973, Bob found his true business niche by purchasing midsize manufacturing, energy and plastic companies, improving their financial positions and performance, and then selling them for 20 to 80 times their original value. Of course these were all Texas companies!

Generous and community-minded, Bob was a Board Member of Tipperary Corporation and the 100 Club of Houston, and active with many other civic and charitable organizations.

When Bob retired in 2006, he and his wife Elizabeth continued to split their time between Houston and Lake Conroe, and continued their passion of traveling the world. They moved to Georgetown in 2013, where Bob enchanted his new neighbors with humor, wine, and a very active social life! His outgoing spirit will be truly missed by those in his neighborhood, among so many others.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Box-Brooks, daughters Jennifer Brown (Roger), Kimberly Guillory (Ron), Michelle Rodriguez (Richard), and their mother Peggy Brooks, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and niece Kathi Ashworth (Jimmy). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Brooks, sister Barbara and CJ Sloan.

A celebration of life service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, Georgetown Texas. A Reception will follow at Mulligan's in Sun City.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to Brookwood in Georgetown (BIG) brookwoodingeorgetown.org, or the 100 Club of Houston, the100club.org.
