Glen Hester Almquist 

August 22, 1962 - January 7, 2024 

Glen Hester Almquist of Taylor, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on August 22, 1962, in Taylor, Texas to parents Gus Leon Almquist and Peggy Irene (Hester) Almquist.

Glen graduated from Hutto High School as Valedictorian. He was very active in Jonah 4-H & Hutto FFA. He continued his educational career at Texas A&M University at College Station where he graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Animal Science. He was the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of '84.

Glen worked with UT Health Science Center for more than 30 years where he recently retired. He worked at Tractor Supply in Taylor & just recently started as a realtor with Rooker RE/MAX Reality.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Hutto Lutheran Church where he grew up.

He is the beloved husband to Janet (Wagner) Almquist & stepfather to William Filla & Emily Filla. He is the honored son of his loving Mom, Peggy Almquist. He is the brother to Paula Almquist Martin (Dwayne). Glen is the brother-in-law to Beth (Bradshaw) Almquist, Phillip Wagner (Pam) & James Wagner (Jana).

He is the proud Uncle of Tristan Almquist (Candace), Cody Almquist (Lindsie), Angela Dismukes (Adam), Avery Martin (Devin), Thomas Speer (Chris), Sarah Speer Ornelas (Michael) & Hayden Wagner. He is the beloved Great Uncle to Calvin & Jack Dismukes, Ellis & Briggs Almquist, Dwayne Gaida, Ariya Ornelas, & Hunter Fisher. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends he called family.

Glen was preceded in death by his father, Gus, brothers, Greg & Gary, and grandparents, Arthur & Rosa (Olson) Almquist, & Elmer & Ruby (Bingham) Hester.

Although he had no children of his own, he helped many & will always be remembered for working with kids and helping them with their 4-H & FFA projects.

Visitation will be at Condra Funeral Home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Condra Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 2 pm with the burial following at Hutto Lutheran Cemetery in Hutto, Texas.
