Stacie Lynn (Tanner) Bowerman 

May 24, 1967 - February 4, 2024 

Stacie Lynn Tanner Bowerman, age 56 of Wilmington, NC passed away Sunday afternoon February 4, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. To honor Stacie’s life funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday the 13th 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 6th and Market streets in Wilmington, NC with a reception to follow.

Stacie was born on May 24, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, daughter of Leo Sam and Elizabeth Ann (McCallen) Tanner. Stacie graduated from L.D. Bell high school as the Valedictorian class of ’85. She graduated from Texas A&M University Summa Cum Laude class of 1989. Stacie would meet her love, Paul Bowerman and would be united in marriage on April 6th, 1991. Their union was blessed with 4 beautiful children: Tanner Moore Bowerman, Shannon Marie Bowerman, Matthews Powers Bowerman, and Anthony Michael Bowerman. In May of 1991 Stacie would move to the Wilmington area and start her career at Corning Incorporated where she worked until her passing.

Those left to cherish Stacie’s memory other than her children include her mother Betty Ann, brother David Tanner, sister Sharon (Doug) Wiggans whom all reside in Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Leo Sam Tanner.

Throughout her life Stacie was involved in her children’s lives through many different roles. She served as a Girl Scout leader for troop 452, was involved with the Williston Athletic boosters, Williston Band Boosters, New Hanover High School Band Boosters, New Hanover High School Lacrosse boosters, and Shamrock Lacrosse organization. She liked to needle point and work on puzzles. Her greatest joy was being with friends and family.

The Bowerman family would like to thank the Lower Cape Fear Hospice (LifeCare) staff for all their compassionate and sincere care during the final stages of her life. Additionally, they would like to thank the Duke medical staff for all their care and support.
