George Anthony LaHood 

March 1, 1934 - December 1, 2020 

Colonel George A. LaHood, USAF (Ret.) was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 1, 1934 to Zaiter and Mary LaHood and entered the kingdom of Heaven on December 1, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Dorothy LaHood. George is survived by his son, Michael George LaHood and daughter, Mary Elizabeth LaHood; sisters, Elizabeth Aboud and Regina Raba and husband Larry Raba; brother, Michael LaHood and wife Norma LaHood; granddaughter, Brittany LaHood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

George graduated from Texas A&M University where he joined the Military Cadet program and was proud to wear the traditional boots, spurs, and saber. George proudly served his country, first as an Army Tank Commander, and then as a Physiological Training Officer in the United States Air Force. He was awarded many commendation medals and was honored with an Achievement Article in Time Magazine.

George will be greatly missed by all of us as well as by his faithful caregivers of 5 years, Hermina Mesa and Monica Guerrero.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 beginning at 11:30 A.M. at St. George Maronite Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 P.M. and the Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 1:00 P.M. Father Charles Khachan will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to St. George Maronite Catholic Church.
