James Turner Midkiff

May 5, 1987 - November 22, 2023

James Turner Midkiff, 36, of Houston, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2023, at the Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, after a tragic hit and run.

Turner, as his family called him, was born May 5, 1987, in San Antonio, Texas, to Philip and Gretchen Midkiff. Turner is also survived by his two brothers Luke and Andrew Midkiff, his grandparents Jim and Pat Midkiff, and Dr. Tom and Arlene Miessler.

Turner grew up in Plano, Texas and received his master’s from Texas A&M University in Biology. He was most recently employed by Rho Impact as a Senior Technical Consultant and specialized in environmental consulting and ESG analysis. Previously, he had consulted with his father, Philip Midkiff, and worked with a number of prestigious oil and gas service companies and water treatment companies.

Turner is characterized by several amazing traits: namely his grace, his empathetic compassion for friends and complete strangers, his exceptional intelligence, work ethic, and was extremely multicultural and multilingual in Latin and French.

Turner was a chef-like cook, loved bicycle riding, was super proud of all things Houston such as: being an enthusiastic Astros baseball fan, a diehard Manchester United soccer supporter and member of the Houston Red Army, a great Texas A&M Aggie, and was a passionate big brother and protector of his friends. And of course, Turner was the biggest Star Wars fan in the Galaxy who had the biggest Heart in the Galaxy, and the Force is with him.

Our hearts are saddened by his passing.
