John Macklin Cook, III 

December 1, 1946 - December 9, 2023 

John Macklin Cook, age 77, of Houston, TX passed away on December 9, 2023. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and a dedicated dentist and loyal friend.

John is survived by his wife, Sharon Cook; son, Connor Cook and wife Melissa, and their daughters Molly and Allison; Daughter, Kameron Cook of Illinois, and husband Kevin and their sons Jens and Owen. He was a wonderful bonus dad to Brian McMackin and wife Kristen, and their children Will, Lauren and Jay; and Lindsay Burger and husband Austin, and daughter Nolan, and children Oscar and Abigail. His brother-in-law Herb Farr of Dallas, TX also survives him.

John attended Richardson High School, and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University. He then pursued his dental education at UT Dental School in Houston, TX. John proudly served in the US Air Force for two years.

John was dedicated to his private dental practice for over 50 years. He was highly respected in his field and deeply committed to providing quality care to his patients. John loved spending his free time on St. John, USVI or skiing in Vail, Colorado. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston TX 77056.
