September 1, 1960 - December 9, 2023 

Steve Hendley, 63, of Brady, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2023, in Brady. He was born in San Antonio to John and Lynda (Barker) Hendley on September 1, 1960.

He graduated from Texas A&M University. He was on the Dean's List. He got kicked out of a semester for having too much fun. Steve met Cindy during his "break" from college. He was kind to everyone and a friend to all. Steve enjoyed pool, poker, golf and rodeo. He was YMCA State Champion. He started playing golf in Jr. High and made state golf in Corpus. He worked on ranches, and decided to fall into his grandfather's footsteps and open up the Meat Market and Deer Processing.

He was a wonderful dad and outstanding Grampy. Steve loved his wife more than anything. He loved Casey like his own, it was the son he never had. He was baptized in the Methodist Church.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, John Hendley, grandparents, Dick and Ree Barker, grandma, Merle Hendley, Thelma Bannert.

Steve is survived by his wife, Cindy Hendley, daughter Heather and husband Casey Poe, grandchildren, Faith and Anniston, mother, Lynda Hendley, brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Cecilla Ray, Gary and Sandy Manning, Drew and Faye Cox, Uncle David Barker, and Uncle Duwain and Aunt Velma Hendley, numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to name.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 15, 2023, at Brady Methodist Church in Brady with Stacy Evans, officiating.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
