Matthew David "Matt" Harrington 

August 4, 1954 - December 10, 2023 

Matthew David Harrington, 69, of Knox City, Texas passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2023. He was born August 4th, 1954 to Charles and Yonne Lee (Burton) Harrington in Dallas, Texas.

He graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 1972 and Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.

Matt taught middle school science in O'Brien for many years. He then pastored churches in Rule, Sweethome, Gilliland and Gillespie Baptist Church.

Matt enjoyed his children and grandchildren very much. His hobbies included electronics, ham radio and computers. He loved his farm and tractor "Betsy" and all his animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Tyler Ford. Matt is survived by his wife Debbie Harrington, son Jim Ford, daughters Aimee Moore and MaKayla Tatum and husband Taylor, two brothers Charles Robert Harrington II and finance Becky and Patrick Burton Harrington. Also, four grandchildren Chelsea, Madyson, Hunter and Hadlee, five great-grandchildren Hayden, Kaleb, Liam, Leo and Lillyana and one niece Laura and her mother Jo, one uncle Ty Burton and wife Shannon and several cousins. 

Memorial services for Matt Harrington will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Gillespie Baptist Church with Wendal Elam and Brent Claybrook officiating.
