Emily Marshall Davis

December 10, 1982 - April 13, 2022

Emily Carolyn Marshall Davis was born December 10th, 1982 in Athens, Texas to Dale Marshall and Toi Markham. She went to her heavenly home on April 13th, 2022.

Emily grew up in North Richland Hills, Texas playing softball and excelling academically. She graduated from Richland High School in 2001. She would then go on to earn two bachelor’s degrees. The first of which she was top in her class at Texas Tech University graduating in 2004 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She then would join her sister and her fiancé at Texas A&M University earning a second bachelor’s of science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2005. After college Emily moved back to Athens where she and husband, Adam Davis were married and soon had two outstanding boys, Ryan and Reid. Emily taught elementary students for ten years in Mabank ISD. She also loved teaching Sunday school at Eastern Hills Church of Christ.

Emily’s greatest earthly love was her family. She often bragged on her kind and generous husband who loved her dearly. She loved spending her time cheering on her boys at their various sporting events and livestock shows. In her downtime Emily could often be found with her cows. She found peace when with them and was most excited during calving season. She was an accomplished quilter and loved to cross-stitch, skills she learned from her grandmother Carolyn McIntyre. She enjoyed a slower paced life out in the country, growing her own produce and baking from scratch.

Emily is survived by her husband, Adam Davis, sons Ryan and Reid, parents Dale Marshall and Toi and Roy Markham, sister Audrey Marshall, and nephew Rhett. Also, father and mother-in-love Danny and Kathy Davis, sister-in-love Laura Hollifield and husband Adam, nieces Olivia and Julia, brother-in-love Taylor Davis, Scott Markham and wife Elyse, nephew Kent and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 16th, 2022 at 11:00am at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with visitation with the family immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eastern Hills Food Pantry or Henderson County Stock Show Supporters.
