William Jackson "Jack" Alexander 

July 20, 1924 - November 29, 2023 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Jackson "Jack" Alexander on November 29, 2023. He was born on July 20, 1924, in Sandia, Texas, to Artie Eva Salmon Awalt and William Steaven Alexander. Jack was a loving husband to Faye Brannan Pieratt Alexander, and they were married in Dallas, Texas on October 3, 1981. He was also a devoted father to his four children, Ann, Barbara, Gary Paul and Tina.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, Jack began his career at Humble Oil in Iraan. He then worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Chambers & Kennedy of Odessa, Regal Oil of Wichita Falls, and the US Department of Energy in Dallas. Even after retiring, he continued to share his expertise as an independent consulting engineer.

Jack was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall, where he was extremely active and involved. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he lived it out through his service to the church community.

Jack had a lifelong passion for woodworking, which began in junior high school when he started making large furniture pieces such as a four-poster bed, a gun cabinet, dining table, and a wall divider. As he got older, he switched to smaller pieces such as handcrafted bowls, candlesticks, and lazy susans. His skill and attention to detail were evident in every piece he created, and he took great pride in his work.

Jack was an active member of the Republican Parties of Wood and Rockwall Counties. He was the first elected Republican in Ector County and went on to become the First Republican County Judge of Wood County, Texas. His dedication to public service and his commitment to the Republican Party were unwavering, and he was respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the American Legion.

Jack, a beloved member of his family, recently celebrated his 99th birthday with a surprise party that was attended by four generations of his family. The party was a joyous occasion, filled with laughter, love, and memories. Jack was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even some great-great-grandchildren, all of whom came together to celebrate his remarkable life. The party was a testament to the enduring love and respect that Jack has earned over the years, and it was a fitting tribute to a man who has touched so many lives.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Lillian Ann Alexander of San Angelo, Barbara Leatrice Alexander of Austin, and Tina Roper and husband, Dan, of Rockwall; his daughter-in-law, Judy Alexander of Rowlett; his grandchildren, Jarrod Stokes of San Angelo, Brad Stokes and wife, Calley, of San Angelo, Amy Stokes of Phoenix, Melissa Stokes of San Angelo, Bryan Alexander and wife, Carly, of Rowlett, Jessica Alexander of Rowlett, Caine Alexander of Rowlett, and Mark Alexander of Rowlett; his great-grandchildren, Mancil Stokes of Lubbock, Whittman Stokes, Morgann Stokes, Jimmy Stokes, and Lillian Stephens, all of San Angelo, and Katie and Rosie Alexander of Rowlett; his great-great-grandchildren, Graeme, Steeli, and Wade Stokes of San Angelo; his brother-in-law, Porter Brannan and wife, Edie of Watauga; his sister-in-law, Joann Alexander of New York; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Artie and William; the mother of three of his children, Rita Roberson Burt; his wife, Faye Alexander; his son, Gary Paul Alexander; his brothers, Roy Alexander and Melvin Alexander; and his sister, Carol Dee Awalt East.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home; 2500 State Highway 66 East, Rockwall, Texas. A gathering of loved ones and friends will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, on Friday, December 8, 2023, in The Gathering at Rest Haven. Jack will be laid to rest at 1:30pm, on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Santa Anna Cemetery; 206 Fannin St, Santa Anna, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Texas Food Bank.
