Jerry Bruce Coleman 

October 1, 1934 - November 28, 2023 

Jerry Bruce Coleman, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He drew his first breath of fresh air when he was born in Ranger, Texas as the youngest child to parents, Jerry and Willa Mae Coleman, both of whom he joins in eternal rest and peace.

He graduated from Freer High School and maintained friendships with many classmates and friends throughout his life. Jerry was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and Webster University. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army Medical Service Corps with 23 years of service. His many service assignments included 7 years in the Far East including Vietnam.

Jerry’s varied interests led him to actively participate as a past President in the San Antonio Audubon Society, the Rock Art Foundation, and as a docent at the Institute of Texan Cultures. Jerry was a devoted member of Madison Hills Baptist Church where he participated in Choir and Bible Study.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Maud Dean Riley, Helen Blake and Frankie Dubree. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jo Ann, son Jeffrey Coleman (Edwin), daughter Janis Kaiser (Steve), and two grandchildren, Stefan Kaiser and Ronan Kaiser.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2023, 11:00 AM PORTER LORING MORTUARY NORTH, 2102 NORTH LOOP 1604 EAST, SAN ANTONIO, TX.

Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
