Floyd Standley Thompson 
September 25, 1936 – February 23, 2023

Floyd S. Thompson passed from this Land of the Dying to the Land of the Living on February 23, 2023.

The retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel had been assigned to various locations in the continental U.S.A. and one remote assignment in Alaska. His most rewarding assignment was as Chief of Production during design and development of the F-15 Fighter. The Air Force Meritous Service Medal, which he received four times, and the Nation of Israel Star of David Award, were among his most significant decorations. He was also a retired teacher, having taught in the FWISD nine years.

Blessed with a loving, devoted wife, Gayle, of 65 years; a son, Ken; former daughter-in-law, Tamara; daughter, Teresa O’Neal; adopted son, Dale O’Neal; and, God’s miracle grandchildren, Andie O’Neal and Caden Thompson.

A Christian witness, a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church, and his body now awaiting the Rapture. Visitation at Laurel Land Funeral Home Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 AM with funeral service to follow at 11:00. Committal services with full military honors will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Children’s ministry at Christ Chapel Bible Church is suggested.
