Joe Edward Cannon

March 10, 1946 - November 23, 2022

Joe Cannon was born in Dublin, Texas on March 10, 1946 and left this earth to be with Jesus on Nov. 23, 2022.

He was a 1964 graduate of Dublin High School and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1969 from Texas A&M University. He did an Internship at University of California, Davis, California (1970-1971) and practiced veterinary medicine in Chino, California for two more years before moving to Grand Prairie, Texas and built Parkway Animal Hospital, where he practiced for over 30 years. During that time, he was also the resident veterinarian for the International Wildlife Park also located in Grand Prairie, Texas.

He and his beloved wife, Sharon, the love of his life, moved to Dublin, Texas in 2010 and built Green’s Creek Veterinary Hospital.

Joe will be remembered for his faith in God, love and compassion for his family and all people as well as all of God’s animal creations.

Joe and Sharon were members of the Cowboy Church Erath County for over 10 years where they served as lay pastors.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Cannon, Daughter Amy Alexander, Son Chad Cannon, Daughter in Law, Tanya Cannon, Son Troy Cannon, grandsons Mason and Brandon Alexander, Sister Linda Pack of Amarillo, Nephew Callan Pack and Niece Cindy Busby.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Bryce and Adele Cannon of Dublin, Texas.

Services for Joe are 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022 at Erath County Cowboy Church, 4945 US-67 Stephenville, Texas 76401.
