Dick Parker Wall, Jr.

April 3, 1927 - October 9, 2022

Dick Parker Wall, Jr. died Sunday, October 9, 2022. He was born in Galveston, TX on April 3rd, 1927 to Bessie Belle Tips Wall and Dr. Dick Parker Wall.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Garrett Wall; and four devoted children, Susan Wall Griffin, Dick Parker Wall, III, Edward Lee Wall, and Ann Kathryn Wall; and his adored daughter-in-law, Ainslie Barts Wall.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Margaret Griffin Pickett (Price), Kathryn Griffin Terry (Gordon), Parker Griffin, Edward Wall, Jr., John William Wall, and Garrett Wall. He is also survived by four great granddaughters: Miller Pickett, Mary Price Pickett, Kirby Terry, Ainslie Terry; and his great grandson, Buckner Terry.

He served our country in two branches of the armed forces. He attended Texas A & M University, graduating as a lieutenant in the army. He interrupted his college education to enlist in the Marine Corps during World War II. After graduation, he served in Germany during the Korean War.

He thoroughly enjoyed the friends and associates that he met during his career with the U.S.F. & G. Insurance Company. He was the general manager of the Louisiana branch of U.S.F.G. & G. Company when he retired in 1992. During his tenure, U.S. F. & G. insured the construction of many prominent buildings that shape the skyline of New Orleans, including the Super Dome. Additionally, Mr. Wall was active in U.S.F. & G.'s sponsorship of the Sugar Bowl and the PGA Golf Tournament and other charity events.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a former vestry member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the New Orleans Country Club, the Boston Club, and the Bienville Club. He had many beloved friends in New Orleans.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Lake Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, October 21st at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. to be followed by the funeral service at 11:00 and reception at noon.
