Roll Call Tribute

Gregory "Greg" Moredock '82 October 11, 2022 5:47 PM updated: October 11, 2022 5:54 PM

Gregory West Moredock
August 30, 1954 - October 5, 2022

Greg drew his last breath the morning of October 5, 2022. He was 68 years old. He was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer in late July that had spread through his body with no symptoms, affording no opportunity to fight it when found.

He was born in Houston to Kenneth and Betty Hill Moredock (both deceased) on August 30, 1954. He grew up in Houston and Portland, Texas, and was a graduate of Texas A & M University.

His business career was spent in the oil and gas industry as a governmental affairs and client services executive. He had an extensive network of friends and colleagues in this industry who thought the world of him, and he of them. He was a man of many talents, an avid outdoorsman, expert competition skeet and sporting clays shooter, nature photographer, woodworking artist, motorcycle enthusiast, and pilot. He was a gregarious, intelligent, innately wise, caring, and sensitive man, and had a great, twisted sense of humor.

He was happily married for 34 years to his wife, Sandy, and they were enjoying retirement living in the Texas Hill Country. He was a loving husband, godfather, and friend. His family and friends are all experiencing the profound loss of his presence, but will cherish their memories of him when he was well and happy.

The family wishes to thank all of those who helped make his last days more comfortable. For those wishing to make a donation in his honor, he would have appreciated a gift to any animal rescue organization of your choice.

His wish was to be cremated with no formal funeral service. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. If you would like to send condolences to his family, please direct those to gmoredock@comcast.net
