Noe Rolando Gonzales, Sr.
January 21, 1969 – July 22, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Cook-Walden Funeral Home
Remembered with Love

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Noe Rolando Gonzales. Noe was born in Mercedes, Texas on January 21, 1969 and passed away in Austin, Texas on July 22, 2022 at the age of 53.

He graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Industrial Engineering and completed the Innovation Leadership Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. While at Texas A&M, Noe was president of the A&M chapter of the Mexican American Engineering Society (MAES). He grew the A&M MAES membership to become the largest student chapter in the US. He served in various leadership positions and eventually became MAES National President. In his role with MAES, he mentored a number of young engineers-to-be in robotic automation.

Noe was a natural born leader. His leadership skills were developed early in life while in the Boy Scouts in Austin, Texas. Ever the competitor even at a young age, he was so proud of the blue ribbon he earned when he built and raced his car in the Scout’s Pine-Wood Derby competition.

After graduating from Texas A&M, Noe joined Hewlett-Packard where he spent most of his career in Product Lifecycle Management. He was a Senior Program Manager and was selected to serve in the Separation Management Office (reorganization committee) when Hewlett-Packard was splitting the company. HP had 287,000 employees and $170 billion in revenue immediately prior to the reorganization. Noe took his Product Lifecycle Management skills to Facebook where he was an Operations and Strategy Manager.

Noe will most be remembered for his gregarious personality and energizing spirit. Noe never met a stranger. The minute you met him, he was your friend and ally for life.

Noe is survived by his wife, Esther; son, Noe, Jr., and daughter, Elsa. He is also survived by his parents, Rolando and Carmen Silva Gonzales; his sisters, Cecilia Gonzales (Vicente) and Celina Gomez (Gilbert), and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Noe is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cipriana Navarro Silva, Roberto Silva, Lupita Davila Gonzalez, and Raymundo Gonzalez who were all residents of Mercedes, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 1:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home on 6100 N Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78752.
