He was a lifetime member of the Construction Science Industry Advisory Council and was inducted into the Construction Science Department’s Hall of Fame in 2016 for his achievements in his career and for his support of the department.

In retirement John enjoyed life traveling the world, attending A&M football games, fishing, cruising, and his favorite hunting with his family and friends. John was a cowboy at heart. His greatest passion was spending time supporting his grandchildren in their various endeavors and passions.
