Kristy Lynn Farmer, born on December 24, 1973, in Riverside, California, passed away in Galveston on April 25, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Charlean Farmer, and Donald Warren Farmer, her nephew Douglas Warren Farmer and her fur babies, Marlin and Flash.

Kristy was SLOW to enter the world. Mamma thought she would never make it out. Mom and dad walked and walked and made multiple trips to Riverside hospital and were sent back home as Kristy was not ready yet! Finally, she came and was Girl Farmer for a week as mom and dad could not decide on a name. Eventually she was name ‘Kristy’ to match Kathy her sister! She was a fun, skinny little kid and mom had to put sprinkles on everything to get her to eat. The family eventually moved to Texas, God’s country Dad always said.

Kristy grew into a beautiful young woman raised in Kilgore Texas. She was active in the church youth sports and cheered for the Longview/Lufkin teams. Kristy was encouraged to visit Texas A&M Galveston for Marine Biology. She eventually moved to Galveston to become a Sea Aggie and Dad loved calling her his ‘little Sea Aggie!’ She worked with the youth programs in the summer here and loved passing on her love and passion for science. Kristy obtained her Bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M-Galveston in Marine Biology and then her Master’s degree at University of Houston Clear Lake with a degree in Environmental Science. She worked her way through college waitressing and bartending! She loved the mardi gras weekends on the Island the money she earned. She was a phenomenal bartender and could make anything! Dad loved visiting the Island with her after mom died and the tour of all the places she lived here was always fun.

After graduation she was hired at the Army Corp of Engineers in Galveston. She was a wonderful support to all her co-workers who quickly became friends with many of them. Kristy was survived by a MULTITUDE of her best friends because she was everybody’s best friend, because she ALWAYS gave you her best. She was loyal. She was funny and fun to be around. She was kind. She was there for her family and friends and gave of herself generously. She was always herself. She was always there in your darkest moments with unconditional love and support with anything you ever needed.

She loved our planet and gave her time to it. She was courageous, and she was entrepreneurial, even succeeding in real estate. Her sister called her jokingly, the Mogul of the family! She is loved missed by many, including friends in Australia!

There will be a memorial service held in Kristy’s home this Sunday, May 1, 2022, The family is asking that your bring your favorite photo of Kristy to display a special moment with her.

Donations can be made in her name to www.grrh.org Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston.
