Larry Carr
August 9, 1949 - April 16, 2021

Theodore Larry Carr, 71, of Brookings passed away at home on April 16th, 2021. He was diagnosed with liver cancer December 2018. There will be no visitation. Burial and graveside services will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. Rudes funeral home is assisting with arrangements.

Larry was born on August 9, 1949, to Theodore and Ellen Carr in San Antonio, Texas. Larry graduated from high school in 1967. He entered the United States Air Force in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1973. He then went on to college at Texas A&M and graduated with an engineering degree in 1975. He was hired by 3M in Brownwood, Texas, in 1976. He transferred to Brookings 3M in 1988. Larry was united in marriage to Jane Hundt on July 5th, 1996.

His purpose in life was simple but not easy. It revolves around honesty, tolerance, unconditional love, and service to others.

Survivors include his wife Jane, son Michael, Michael’s wife Bonnie, and grandson Edward. Daughter Francis, her husband Chris, grandson Joseph, and granddaughter Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Ellen, his brother Charles, sister Carla, and his first wife Helen.
