Daniel Ray Clodfelder

January 3, 1955 - December 4, 2009

Daniel Ray Clodfelder, 54, of Sarasota, Fla., died from cancer Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 in Sarasota.

A celebration of his life will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation at 11 a.m., at Poindexter Hall McClure Funeral Home in Odon, Ind. A burial service and fellowship at Walnut Hill Cemetery will follow. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is handling local arrangements.

Dan was born Jan. 3, 1955, to Sherrill and Darrell Clodfelder in Washington, Ind., and lived in Odon through high school. He graduated from North Daviess High School in 1973 and Purdue University in 1976 with an associate's degree in architectural technology, and continued his education at Texas A&M. He lived in Dallas until he moved to Sarasota in April, 2003. He was a draftsman/line architect for Neiman Marcus, RYA, RDG, and John Cannon Homes. He was employed by Goodwill Industries-Manasota.

Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Inez Clodfelder and Ray and Hazel Tarvin; and his father, Darrell Clodfelder. He is survived by his mother and second father, Sherrill and Bill Wells; twin brother, David Clodfelder; sisters Debbie Potter (Brian) and Peggy Roberts (Don); and a foster sister, Carole Richardson (Phil Wilson). His second father added sisters Lauri Wells, Cindi Pedigo (Kevin), and Susan Young (Jeremiah); and brother Steve Wells (Beth). Dan had many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The things that were important to Dan were being generous with his friends and family, laughter, building beautiful places, and certainly his love of music.
